Art Lab: Sound is MoMA's latest interactive installation designed for families and individual visitors. The space invites hands-on engagement with sound through listening, looking, drawing, and writing activities, making it an accessible entry point to exploring how artists work with audio and sensory experience.

What to expect

An interactive environment featuring activities like the Listening Wall where visitors explore the sounds materials make. The installation includes sound amplification, with noise-reduction headsets available upon request, and free sensory kits for those who need support in overstimulating environments.

Things to know

• Art Lab: Sound is part of the Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Family Art Lab, MoMA's dedicated space for families and individual visitors.
• The space is located on the first floor of the Education and Research Building, accessible via the Sculpture Garden or second-floor corridor
• Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• An Activity Guide with listening, looking, drawing, and writing activities is available for download in English.
• Assistive listening devices and noise-reduction headsets are available upon request for accessibility support.
• The installation is supported by the Adobe Foundation and funded by the Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Family Endowment Fund.
