In Practice: Magdalena Petroni
May 28, 2026 – Jul 6, 2026
Magdalena Petroni participates in SculptureCenter's In Practice program.
Why go
The artist constructs a site-responsive environment that collapses the boundary between movie set and studio workspace, using found materials and her debut film to examine the glitched edges between real and hyperreal—a direct response to how the pandemic reshaped labor and creative space.
What to expect
An immersive installation combining painting, sculpture, and found objects arranged to envelop visitors; a debut film featuring crash-test dummy dialogue that plays off the uncanny office/stage environment, evoking disorientation and existential unease.
