Nalini Malani: Of Woman Born
May 9, 2026 – Nov 22, 2026

Nalini Malani's site-specific Animation Chamber installation meditates on the myth of Orestes and contemporary patriarchal violence through 67 animations and a 20-minute soundscape of women's voices.
Why go
A major Collateral Event of the 61st Venice Biennale, this immersive multichannel work transforms a heritage site into a "thought chamber" using over 30,000 iPad drawings projected across nine video channels, extending Malani's pioneering Animation Chamber series since 2017.
What to expect
A large-scale multisensorial environment of continually appearing and disappearing images, layered projections, and women's voices creating a visceral, shifting space where viewers construct their own narratives from the superimposed animations.
