Studio Residency: Pageant

Pageant, an artist-run Brooklyn performance collective, develops new movement-based work in MoMA's studio through rehearsal, experimentation, and public performance events.

The residency blurs the boundary between private creation and public viewing—the studio alternates between closed rehearsal space and live performance stage, culminating in a drop-in Performance Marathon featuring Pageant artists and collaborators from their East Williamsburg community.

What to expect

The Kravis Studio will function as both working rehearsal space and performance venue. Visitors can experience works in progress during a Performance Marathon and attend a moderated public conversation reflecting on the collective's collaborative practice and the relationship between rehearsal and presentation.
